Customer Success: ImmerShare Scale × SJTU School of Design
September 8, 2026 Customer Success: ImmerShare Scale × SJTU School of Design When physical heritage accelerates toward decay under urban expansion, climate change, and geopolitical conflict, can digital technology preserve humanity’s collective memory? At the 21st Annual Conference of the International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments (IASTE), the School of Design at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the Spatial Intelligence and Virtual-Real Fusion Design Laboratory launched the “Virtual Silk Road: Explorations in Digital-Intelligent Heritage Design” Exhibition. Central to this project was SITU—a Cultural Heritage AI Agent Platform built to digitally reconstruct and safeguard endangered historical monuments along the Silk Road into an interactive, 3D digital atlas. Access SITU To deliver a cross-device 3D experience for global scholars and online visitors without local hardware barriers, SJTU integrated ImmerShare Scale (formerly LarkXR), Paraverse Technology’s Full-Stack Enterprise-Grade Cloud XR Streaming PaaS Platform. The Challenge: Delivering Ultra-High-Fidelity 3D Without Hardware Constraints SJTU’s Silk Road database spans nearly a decade of interdisciplinary research, incorporating massive 3D Gaussian Splatting, generative 3D AI models, and spatial computing environments across more than 30 ancient cities. Delivering these photorealistic environments presented three bottlenecks: High Hardware Barriers: High-precision 3D environments required local high-end GPUs and large software downloads, restricting access for mobile, web, and tablet users. Fidelity Loss on WebGL: Browser-native WebGL rendering degraded visual complexity, dynamic lighting, and interactive precision. Global Multi-User Latency: Hosting international scholars and visitors across Europe, Asia, and the Americas without distributed compute infrastructure introduced latency. To enable zero-download 3D exploration directly inside standard web browsers, SJTU needed a scalable, low-latency cloud rendering solution. The Solution: Borderless Web Access via Global Distributed GPU Clusters SJTU shifted graphics rendering from client devices to the cloud using ImmerShare Scale. Audiences visiting the SITU Platform could navigate to “Studio” → “Atlas” or “Gallery” to explore historical sites—including the Tang Dynasty Chang’an Great Ci’en Temple, Nalanda Temple, and Song Dynasty Shuomen Port—directly within standard web browsers. https://youtu.be/r15Jd0Qoc3o?si=tIddNrwZIk5B-7oT This low-latency delivery was enabled by ImmerShare Scale’s PaaS architecture: Multi-Region Cloud Clusters: Paraverse deployed a large-scale, enterprise-ready compute pool across domestic and international public cloud nodes, leveraging flexible high-performance GPU instances. Dynamic GPU Pooling & Scheduling: Rendering workloads are dynamically split, managed via a central control hub, and provisioned with millisecond-level responsiveness and dynamic auto-scaling. RTT & Proximity-Based Routing: Real-time Round-Trip Time (RTT) and distance detection dynamically route each web connection to the nearest, lowest-latency rendering node. Consistent Sub-20ms Global Experience: Whether a researcher or visitor joins from Shanghai, London, or Samarkand, cloud compute is allocated locally to maintain sub-20ms interactive latency and uncompromised visual quality. Core Technical Milestones Delivered by ImmerShare Scale: Seamless Web Embedding & SDK Integration: ImmerShare Scale’s web client SDK allowed SJTU developers to embed interactive cloud-rendered 3D viewport containers directly into their custom frontend web application (situ.global), providing a unified user interface. Flexible Hardware & Deployment Agnosticism: ImmerShare Scale seamlessly runs across private IDC servers, enterprise-grade cloud GPUs, and cost-effective consumer-grade GPU instances. This hardware versatility allows institutions to scale compute dynamically without being locked into expensive proprietary hardware. Fine-Grained 3rd-Gen GPU Pooling: Replaced rigid vGPU passthrough with dynamic GPU resource sharing. Compute power is allocated automatically based on real-time rendering loads, enabling multi-user concurrency on single GPU instances. Proprietary XLong Transport Control: Features dynamic bitrate adjustment, intelligent encoding/decoding, and frame capture optimization, guaranteeing smooth, jitter-free interaction even on weak public networks. Sub-20ms Low-Latency Engine: Achieved sub-20ms end-to-end latency for camera rotation, deep object manipulation, and avatar interaction Enterprise Track Record Across Global Stages Cloud Exhibition | The 28th Venice International Architecture BiennalePowered By ImmerShare Scale (Formerly LarkXR), Paraverse Technology https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKp0a7aPHyo Transforming Digital Delivery for Exhibitions, AEC, and Academia The success of the SITU Virtual Silk Road demonstrates how ImmerShare Scale acts as a foundational bridge between complex, high-precision 3D environments and web distribution: Virtual Exhibitions & Cultural Heritage: Eliminates venue limits and hardware barriers, enabling museums and cultural institutions to embed heavy 3D scans directly into web platforms for permanent, worldwide access. Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC): Enables architecture studios and design firms to stream heavy BIM models, Unreal Engine visualizations, and real-time CAD walkthroughs directly to clients on any tablet or web browser without local rendering lag. Higher Education & Virtual / Academic Research Labs: Allows university faculties and research centers to deploy intensive 3D AI simulations, virtual labs, and interactive heritage databases across student devices—unifying strict academic precision with low-cost, scalable compute infrastructure. By pairing 3D AI modeling with real-time cloud XR streaming, ImmerShare Scale makes complex 3D assets accessible on standard web browsers worldwide.
